Employment Type: Permanent but also open to Contract Working Hours: M-F 37.5 hours per week Business: Nuclear Products & Engineered Services Salary Expectation: $120-150k + Benefits Job Title: Mechanical Engineer General Accountabilities Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to the design, fabrication, and testing of equipment and skid-based process systems, including machine design, tooling, and automation solutions. Develop 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using industry best practices (SolidWorks preferred). Support the full lifecycle of mechanical systems, from conceptual design through fabrication, testing, implementation, and project close-out.
Fabrication drawings and general arrangement drawings P&IDs Engineering calculations (stress analysis, load calculations, etc.) Technical specifications (equipment, valves, instrumentation, loads, line lists) Bills of Materials (BOM) FMEA and other engineering analyses Develop and execute functional test procedures and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) in compliance with quality program requirements. Lead and support testing, investigations, and troubleshooting activities related to fabrication of nuclear components and skid-based systems. Collaborate with construction, procurement, suppliers, and utility stakeholders to ensure compliance with design requirements.
Activities may include supplier drawing reviews, procedure reviews, site visits, and acceptance testing. Work closely with cross-functional disciplines (Instrumentation & Controls, Software, Electrical, etc.) to deliver integrated design solutions. Provide technical leadership and supervision to project teams, ensuring effective problem-solving and timely delivery.
Support procurement engineering activities, resolve QA-related issues, and maintain project schedules. Contribute to proposal development for internal and external clients. Ensure strong customer satisfaction through proactive communication and effective project controls.

Selection Criteria Core Competencies Strong customer focus and commitment to business objectives High level of initiative with the ability to propose and implement improvements Effective collaborator in multidisciplinary environments Proven ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications 4–5 years of experience in mechanical design, fabrication, and testing programs Hands‑on experience developing complex equipment and instrumentation (asset) Knowledge of applicable national and international engineering standards Strong commitment to Human Performance (HU) principles; nuclear industry experience preferred Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent) Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario or eligibility for licensure Ability to obtain and maintain nuclear site security clearance #J-18808-Ljbffr
