About the Company
Our client is a growing engineering consultancy delivering practical engineering solutions across heavy industry, manufacturing, mining, energy, water and industrial infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering problems, working closely with experienced mentors and contributing throughout the full project lifecycle.

The Role
As part of a collaborative engineering team, you'll work on industrial projects from concept through to commissioning. You'll be involved in design, site investigations, equipment assessments, technical documentation and project delivery while developing practical engineering skills through exposure to real operating facilities.
The role offers a high level of variety, combining office-based engineering with regular site exposure and direct interaction with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and assess mechanical systems for industrial and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Complete site inspections, equipment assessments and field investigations.
  • Develop practical engineering solutions for plant upgrades and brownfield modifications.
  • Assist with equipment selection, technical evaluations and supplier coordination.
  • Support tender preparation, construction activities and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with electrical, civil and structural engineering disciplines.
  • Deliver engineering work in accordance with Australian Standards and project requirements.
  • Identify technical risks and contribute to safe, efficient project outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Approximately 3-8 years' relevant engineering experience.
  • Exposure to heavy industry, manufacturing, mining, energy, water or industrial facilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Practical engineering mindset with an interest in site-based work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively.
  • Australian working rights and a current driver's licence.
Experience with AutoCAD, hydraulic or piping design software, FEA, industrial ventilation or pumping systems will be highly regarded but is not essential.
