Mechanical Engineer – Test Facilities Peterborough Onsite The Opportunity This position offers the chance to work within a highly advanced engineering test environment, supporting the development and optimisation of powertrain and drivetrain systems. You’ll play a key role in ensuring test facilities are efficient, safe, and future-ready, getting involved in everything from upgrades to technical problem-solving and system improvements. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting the setup and enhancement of test environments and associated mechanical systems Identifying and resolving complex engineering issues within test facilities Contributing to continuous improvement and modernisation projects Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver solutions Producing clear technical documentation and recommendations Helping maintain reliable and compliant facility operations What We’re Looking For Experience working in engineering test environments (engines, powertrain, EV or similar) Strong hands-on approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving Ability to interpret data and communicate clear, actionable insights Comfortable working in a fast-paced, onsite R&D setting Background in mechanical engineering (degree or equivalent experience) Proficiency with standard engineering tools and systems Why Consider It Work at the forefront of modern propulsion and test technologies Blend of practical engineering and project-based work Exposure to cutting-edge facilities and innovation-driven teams Immediate impact within an active and evolving environment
