Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Bristol. Salary: GBP45,000 – GBP55,000. Working hours: Monday to Friday, early finish Fridays. 33 days holiday, specialist training, wellbeing platform. This could be the perfect opportunity for you. The Role We are working with a well‑established engineering business in Bristol looking to strengthen their design team. This position offers a great mix of design, project ownership, and customer interaction across a range of technically interesting products and systems. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of projects, from initial concept design through to build, testing, and customer delivery, giving you real visibility and impact.

Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical systems and components using SolidWorks Manage projects from concept through to completion Create detailed drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials Work closely with manufacturing, assembly, and test teams Support installation and commissioning activities when required Visit customer sites to assist with delivery, installation, and issue resolution About You Experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer Strong SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD) experience Background in designing engineered products, systems, or equipment Experience managing projects or taking ownership of design delivery Confident liaising with internal teams and customers Practical mindset with strong problem‑solving skills What We Offer Salary GBP45,000 – GBP50,000 Early finish Friday, 33 days holiday, specialist training, wellbeing platform Varied and interesting project work (low volume, high value) Opportunity to see designs through to real‑world use Customer‑facing exposure and occasional site visits Supportive, collaborative engineering team Equal Opportunity We are an equal opportunity employer.
