Kempston Controls

Job Description

Kempston Group is a specialist industrial technology group at an exciting point in its growth. Electrification - the move from fossil fuel to electricity across transport, buildings and industry - is reshaping our market and creating new opportunities across power distribution, control and automation. Grids are being rebuilt.

Factories are electrifying. EV infrastructure, data centres and battery storage are driving demand for the technology we supply. We’re evolving with that market and strengthening how we show up to customers.

Which means we need someone who can help bring that story to life.

The business you'd be marketing

Nine companies, thirteen locations, 338 colleagues from 21 nationalities, customers in more than 100 countries. £88m turnover, £10m profit and the cash strength to invest properly. Three own brands, 500+ supply partners including Schneider Electric, Siemens, ABB and Eaton, and a range of 1.4m products backed by real stock.

We’ve grown fast, and growth has brought complexity: multiple brands, three country websites, 25,000+ accounts and different ways of working across the group. Part of your job is to help bring coherence to that - a consistent brand, a clearer customer offer and a more joined-up approach to market that still leaves each business room to serve its own customers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and develop a small marketing team while managing external agencies and partners.
  • Create and deliver the annual marketing plan across multiple territories.
  • Grow our social media presence through engaging content, with a strong focus on video.
  • Expand and optimise paid social campaigns across platforms including LinkedIn and Meta.
  • Develop compelling email marketing campaigns for customers and supplier partners.
  • Support the sales team with collateral, merchandise, events and lead generation activity.
  • Own and evolve the Kempston Controls brand across all customer touchpoints.
  • Measure, analyse and communicate marketing performance and ROI.

What We're Looking For

  • An experienced marketing professional with strong people management skills.
  • Proven success growing social media accounts through content and video.
  • Experience supporting sales growth through campaigns, events and marketing initiatives.
  • A flair for copywriting and a keen eye for design.
  • A natural story-teller who can build and champion our brand
  • Confidence using modern marketing tools including CRM platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, social media management platforms and analytics tools.
  • A commercial mindset with a focus on delivering measurable business results.

You’d join a profitable, ambitious group with the funding and appetite to back marketing properly, at exactly the point where the role can make a real impact. That matters because the way we grow is as important as the growth itself. We want marketing to help us show up as one group, stay close to what customers need, look ahead as markets change and communicate clearly with customers, colleagues, suppliers and the wider market.

What we offer

In return, you'll join a stable, growing group that is serious about investing in its people. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health cover, a Christmas shutdown on top of your holiday allowance, supportive working arrangements and the opportunity to help shape a role, function and brand at a pivotal point in the group's development.

Kempston Group. Helping customers design, source, build and operate smarter electrified solutions.
