8Fleet is a rapidly growing Los Angeles‑based technology and logistics startup building the operational infrastructure for both autonomous and non‑autonomous rideshare fleets. With anticipated growth, we are hiring a Market Manager to join and grow with our team, being involved in every aspect of operations as we expand rapidly.

About the Role

The Market Manager is responsible for 8Fleet’s operations in our next city—San Francisco—including end‑to‑end operations management, strategic planning, data oversight, business operations, and BD. This essential role requires operational expertise, a deep understanding of the ridesharing industry, and a founder’s mindset. The successful candidate will tackle key business priorities, drive growth, and execute high‑quality results while working in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Fleet Growth & Management:
  • Own financial and operational metrics to ensure optimal revenue and profit maximization.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day fleet operations, including driver scheduling, dispatch, and performance monitoring.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance and repair programs to ensure optimal fleet utilization and safety.
  • Partner with the Growth team to develop and execute strategies to recruit, onboard, and retain a high‑performing driver base.
• Financial Performance:
  • Analyze fleet performance data to identify profitability and operational efficiency opportunities.
  • Develop and implement cost‑effective strategies to maximize fleet profitability.
  • Monitor KPIs and track progress toward business goals.
• Driver Support & Training:
  • Provide ongoing support and training on industry best practices, safety regulations, and customer service.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment for all employees.
• Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement necessary corrective actions.

Successful Candidates Will Bring

• 2+ years of operations management, business consulting, or related experience managing operations, building and developing teams, optimizing processes, and delivering business goals.
• 2+ years of people‑management experience, high EQ, and proven ability to deliver outstanding results through others in a timely manner using strong focus, organization, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Goal focus with a strong bias toward action.
• Entrepreneurial hustle and self‑starter with an owner’s mentality; some entrepreneurial experience preferred.
• Data‑driven mindset, strong business judgment, and proven ability to perform analysis, draw key insights, and execute strategy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships, manage a team, influence stakeholders, and inspire others.
• Excellent organization and time‑management skills.
• Willingness to get your hands dirty, lead by example, and motivate teams both in person and remotely.
• BA/BS with an impressive academic record.
• MBA or advanced degree is a strong plus.
• Experience with ridesharing platforms (Uber, Lyft) is a strong plus.
• Available full‑time on‑site in San Francisco (in‑office 5 days a week).

Compensation

• Base salary range: $105k – $125k per year.
• Annual bonus and strong stock‑option award.
