Job Description Job Description Classification: Salaried Exempt Reports to: Business Manager Summary: Linders Specialty Company, Inc. is a custom metal fabricator specializing in roll bending and custom fabrication of steel, stainless steel and aluminum using our multiple roll bending processes and specialty equipment. We are looking for a Quality Engineer to establish and maintain standard operating procedures throughout our entire organization and establish and maintain a culture of quality control. Essential Duties: • Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain a quality plan to establish company quality systems and quality procedures in compliance with customer, AISC, AWS and ASME quality requirements • Develop, maintain, and portray a high degree of professionalism and technical competence both within and outside the organization, encouraging excellence through example • Work with the management team to develop and closely monitor annual quality performance goals for each team • Maintain company quality inspection programs for incoming materials, in-process materials, and finished goods • Establish, maintain, and manage a document control system • Vendor quality and delivery assessments • Oversee and direct continuous improvement initiatives • Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization • Identify, develops, implements and monitors quality-related training needs • Supervise the internal quality auditing process making sure that all audits are completed • Compile the audit results and present summary to management • Work with our outside auditors to maintain our quality certifications • Control and approves all nonconforming materials procedures • Report cost of nonconforming material to management • Other duties as identified assigned Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Industrial mechanical or manufacturing preferred Job Description Linders Specialty Company, Inc. • At least 5 years of combined manufacturing/quality engineering in a manufacturing/fabrication environment • At least 3 years of supervisory experience • Experience and/or understanding of 5S and lean manufacturing • Must have extensive knowledge of and expertise in: AISC, ASME and AWS welding requirements • Proven experience with quality processes and audits • Experience with blueprint reading and tolerancing and gauge management systems and standards • Demonstrated examples of initiative in completing projects • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills • Exhibits strong leadership and sound decision-making qualities • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of company personnel and customers WORK ENVIRONMENT • This position functions in a professional office environment and travels throughout the manufacturing facility on occasion. It involves routine use of office equipment such as computers, phone, and photocopy machine.
