Manager, Supply Chain and Operations, UK Supply chain and operations are at the forefront of organisations’ strategic priorities. Working collaboratively with leading organisations, you will help to optimise and transform supply chains, operations, net‑zero initiatives and commercial and procurement operations. Leverage your experience in innovation, leading practice and technology to shape the next generation of leaders.
Develop your leadership and management ability while working in cross‑functional teams across EY’s Consulting, People and Technology practices. Deepen your technical and sector knowledge by working alongside clients on project teams. Work with cutting‑edge technologies such as Robotic Process Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Blockchain.
Key Responsibilities Build, maintain and strengthen relationships and be a trusted advisor in at least one area of supply chain (operations, planning, procurement, manufacturing, etc.). Be adept at problem‑solving with clients and project teams, supporting project delivery to completion. Develop experience and relationships across several clients over time, often as part of a team from different parts of EY’s global network.
Contribute to the development of proposals to showcase EY’s leading practices. Engage the market with thought leadership and public profile, and contribute to enhancing EY’s methodologies. Work across internal sector and account field of play teams to develop your network and bring EY’s expertise to bear.
Support successful delivery of projects and workstreams on time and within budget. Ensure the quality of delivery exceeds client expectations by effectively managing activities and deliverables within your remit. Manage and nurture those who work with you, undertake career counselling responsibilities, and develop inclusive, high‑performing teams.
Your Experience Typically, Managers bring practical experience from a Big4 or consultancy background, with a focus on Consumer Products & Retail and Manufacturing. You will have good experience in at least one of the technical skills below and some experience across one or multiple others. Supply Chain Transformation – End‑to‑end transformation experience, including design, setup and delivery of people, process and technology changes.
Digital Supply Chain / Supply Chain Technology – Implementation of planning, manufacturing and procurement systems, including next‑generation technologies such as Robotic Process Automation, cognitive automation and AI. Supply Chain Planning – Functional experience in demand and supply planning, sales & operations planning, segmentation strategy, inventory optimisation and/or production scheduling, and technology experience with systems such as OMP, Kinaxis, o9, Aera, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder and SAP S/4 HANA. Commercial & Procurement – Strategic, operational or transactional procurement across the purchasing lifecycle, including strategy, operating model, category management, strategic sourcing, contract management, procurement technology and analytics.
Experience with SAP Ariba is a plus. Operating Model Transformation – End‑to‑end operating model experience covering strategy, vision, design, transformation and implementation. Supply Chain Strategy – Operating model design, segmentation strategy and inventory optimisation, with a focus on improving end‑to‑end supply‑chain performance.
Qualifications Many Managers have professional body membership or qualifications such as Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or International Association of Commercial & Contract Management (IACCM) or equivalent.
