As a Manager, Restructuring, your duties and responsibilities will include: Service Delivery Managing a complex corporate restructuring portfolio while overseeing a professional, technical, and administrative team.
Evaluating complex business issues and formulating recommendations for the court and stakeholders to maximize creditor recoveries while maintaining business viability where possible. Communicating and negotiating with stakeholders of diverse interests (creditors, debtors, lawyers, lenders, etc.) for creditors and legal inquiries. Financial oversight: tracking project progress and milestones, reviewing invoices, preparing payments, handling trust account duties, and preparing summaries of receipts and disbursements.
Ad‑hoc projects that use your accounting skills and business acumen in unique, real‑time assignments. Business Development Building and maintaining positive relationships with corporate restructuring professionals, lawyers, regulators, investors, and lending institutions. Actively participating in industry organizations, events, and firm marketing initiatives to generate new corporate restructuring business.
Demonstrating client‑development skills with a focus on building relationships and anticipating client and market needs. Nurturing alumni connections to strengthen your professional network. Participating in professional and community organization events.
Key Requirements Education: Enrollment in the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) Qualification Program, preparing to obtain Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT). Completion of a bachelor’s, advanced‑level degree (master’s), or professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA). Experience and Attributes 3+ years of advisory experience in a Canadian professional services firm, leading complex corporate restructuring and insolvency proceedings, or equivalent.
Comprehensive knowledge of insolvency proceedings and the ability to attend client sites. Financial acumen: understanding key performance indicators and financial reporting. Proficiency in file acquisition, administration, and closure.
Exceptional communication and writing skills for stakeholder communication and court reports. Active participation in professional, industry, or community organization events. Expansion of brand reach through development of connections with bankers, lawyers, trustees, and referral sources.
Ethical compliance with the firm’s standards and code of conduct for trustees. Strong management and leadership skills with ability to develop the team and advisory practice. Commitment to quality, excellence, and continual professional growth for yourself and team members.

Work from anywhere in Canada for 4 weeks during the summer. The current salary range for this role in Toronto is $96,800–$133,100. Ranges may vary by location to reflect local market factors.
