Manager, Consulting (Project & Change Management Focus) for Boutique, NYC-Based Management Consulting Firm Overview This role sits at the Manager level within a consulting environment focused on helping organizations translate strategy into execution. Managers lead client engagements end-to-end, oversee delivery across multiple workstreams, and ensure high-quality outcomes through strong project management, stakeholder alignment, and team leadership. The role balances hands-on execution with people development and close partnership with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities Client Engagement & Project Management Lead day-to-day execution of client engagements, owning project plans, timelines, deliverables, and communication cadences Partner with senior team members to define project scope, success metrics, and milestones , translating strategy into actionable workplans Manage multiple concurrent workstreams , proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and course corrections Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, accountability, and on-time delivery Prepare for and facilitate client meetings and working sessions that drive decision-making and momentum Ensure consistent, high-quality outputs while adapting plans in ambiguous or evolving environments Support the development of client capabilities throughout the engagement People Leadership & Internal Contribution Serve as a Career Manager, coaching and supporting the growth of team members across levels Provide active mentorship, modeling strong judgment, executive presence, and delivery discipline Contribute to internal initiatives related to operations, process improvement, or intellectual property development Support business development efforts through proposal development, client storytelling, and pitch participation as needed Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and multiple workstreams simultaneously Strong analytical and structured thinking skills; ability to distill complexity into clear plans and actions Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-stakes environments Experience working with senior stakeholders and navigating sensitive organizational dynamics Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to influence and align diverse stakeholders High attention to detail, responsiveness, and follow-through Flexibility to meet project demands, including occasional extended hours Willingness to travel up to ~30% Ideal Profile Pragmatic, curious problem-solver with a strong execution mindset Takes ownership and accountability for outcomes, not just recommendations Energized by complex, people-centric business challenges Growth-oriented, reflective, and receptive to feedback Invests in relationships and team development Leads with humility, integrity, and a strong sense of urgency #J-18808-Ljbffr
