About The Role The Manager of Finance plays a critical leadership role in supporting the financial health and operational integrity of Luminary Hospice. This position is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities across our multi‑state agency network. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in healthcare finance, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for executive and operational leaders.
The right candidate is a hands‑on operational finance professional who thrives in a fast‑moving, multi‑site environment and can own recurring financial processes with precision and accountability. Job Responsibilities Financial Close & Reporting Own month‑end close, including agency accrual coordination, AP/invoice reconciliation, and vendor invoice tracking Allocate support‑level expenses down to the agency level Ownership of accuracy of agency and support financials each month; produce clean financials to each Agency by BD10 Support monthly financial reporting with consolidated variance schedules, detailed summary of variance drivers, and ensure agency understanding of budget misses and opportunities Operational Finance & Expense Management Approve vendors and employee reimbursements Monitor AP inboxes across agency locations and route accordingly ADC & Payroll Reporting Produce daily ADC report vs. plan Distribute bi‑weekly payroll and mileage reports to the exec team Facilitate bi‑weekly payroll and mileage reviews with EDs Lead weekly budget calls covering ADC and payroll variances Accounts Receivable & Revenue Cycle Conduct bi‑weekly AR calls with billing partners and agency leadership Monitor unbilled AR balances across locations Reconcile cash posting vs. deposit with billing partners Manage AR aging reviews with agency and external partners Coordinate onboarding of new agencies to billing Produce unbilled report in the first 10 days of each month for cash flow visibility Job Qualifications 5‑7 years of experience in operational finance, accounting, or an assistant controller role Background in PE‑backed, multi‑site healthcare strongly preferred; hospice experience a plus Demonstrated experience owning month‑end close and AP/AR processes in a multi‑entity environment Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems; experience with AP automation platforms a plus Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high‑frequency, deadline‑driven tasks independently Comfortable working cross‑functionally with operators, executive directors, and external partners Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA a plus Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
