Job Description

Our client is one of North America’s leading private renewable energy companies and operates more than 5,600MW across 52 assets consisting of utility‑scale solar, wind, battery storage, and renewable natural gas in North America. We are looking for a Manager of Middle Office to join on a 6‑month contract. The role is hybrid with three days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) located in Oakville.

As the Manager of Middle Office, you will be the focal point for all post‑trading activity and will ensure that the trading activities are accurately managed. You will work closely with other functions such as trading, finance, legal and IT, and will be the company’s primary contact person with external parties. Key Responsibilities Trading Process, Control and Risk Management: Oversees the settlement team and processes between the front office and back office, ensuring accuracy and completeness of trade capture, managing deal confirmations, exposure and mark‑to‑market calculations, and leading reconciliation of trading positions across systems.

Trading Control: Monitors adherence to established trading limits, escalates limit breaches, identifies control gaps, and implements corrective actions to strengthen the control environment. Settlements / Compliance: Oversees the preparation and submission of FERC regulatory filings, manages monthly settlement of energy and REC hedges, calculates and verifies amounts owed, partners with accounting on month‑end reporting and REC inventory reconciliation, tracks RECs / RINs / LCFS units, provides operational oversight of transactions, reviews P&L and valuation, and prepares risk and performance reports for leadership. Must Have Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or a relevant field.

At least 5years of relevant experience, preferably in energy and/or risk management. Prior Middle Office experience with familiarity with MTM, hedges, forward transactions and related reporting. Prior experience in a Treasury‑related role is an asset.

Understanding of Python, SQL, Microsoft Excel and related applications. Familiarity with commonly traded financial products, including swaps, futures, options, PPAs, and renewable energy credits. Robust attention to detail and accuracy.
