The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager, Manufacturing to lead our Encapsulation department and drive operational excellence. Your primary responsibility will be to actively lead and develop a team, working closely with them to achieve the set goals while upholding our strong commitment to sustainability and core values. We are a growing BC business and one of Canada’s leading manufacturers of nutritional supplements, dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of our customers.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and support four teams across a 24/7 schedule, providing hands on direction, guidance, and opportunities for each employee to contribute to the department's success.
  • Manage the performance of direct and indirect staff, implementing succession plans and career development paths for key individuals.
  • Develop and oversee annual budgets, tracking and analyzing spending to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Analyze capacity requirements to determine short and long-term staffing needs and cross-training opportunities. Prepare business cases to support equipment purchases and expansions.
  • Collaborate closely with the maintenance team to manage preventative maintenance schedules, minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment capabilities.
  • Work shift Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with required flexibility to support a 24/7 schedule.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or Supply Chain.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment (Pharmaceutical / Nutritional supplement / Food would be preferred).
  • Knowledge of company policies and experience in people management functions is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Experience and training in Lean Manufacturing Tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, Visual management, etc.); Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel, and knowledge of ERP systems.
