Position Summary

The Manager in Training (MIT) program is a 3-6 month development role designed to prepare future supervisors and managers across Wythe Hotel's food and beverage operations. Through hands-on training and mentorship, you will rotate between Le Crocodile, Bar Blondeau, and the Events team to develop the operational knowledge and management skills  needed to lead successful service teams.

During the program, you will learn every aspect of front-of-house operations—from guest service and floor leadership to staffing, coaching, financial controls, and event execution. Working alongside experienced managers, chefs, beverage directors, and event professionals, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of each concept while developing your own leadership style.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be prepared to step into a Supervisor or Floor manager role within Wythe Hotel's hospitality team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete a structured 3-6 month training program across Le Crocodile, Bar Blondeau, and Events.
  • Learn and perform every front-of-house position to build operational knowledge and credibility.
  • Shadow managers during service while developing floor leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Support daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, staffing, and service execution.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching team members.
  • Learn labor management, scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and cost control fundamentals.
  • Partner with culinary, beverage, and events teams to understand each department's role in delivering exceptional hospitality.
  • Assist with private events and restaurant buyouts from planning through execution.
  • Build strong guest relationships while learning service recovery and hospitality leadership.
  • Receive regular coaching, performance feedback, and development milestones throughout the program.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in restaurants or hospitality, experience in a lead server or bartender role strongly valued.
  • Passion for hospitality and a desire to build a long-term hospitality career.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, dependable, and eager to learn.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods up to  8-9 hours and lift up to 20 pounds.
