As an individual contributor at the intersection of finance, operations, and government funding, you will translate financial information into clear, actionable insights that support decision‑making. This role directly supports programs that serve children and families in our community and strengthens the organization’s financial sustainability and impact.
Responsibilities Lead funding analysis, reporting, and reconciliations for government programs (including CWELCC) Interpret funding guidelines and assess financial impacts across programs and regions Identify risks, variances, and opportunities related to funding Support and, over time, lead communication with external funders Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting process across departments Develop and maintain rolling forecasts Provide variance analysis and forward‑looking insights to support decision‑making Support scenario modeling and financial planning initiatives Partner with leaders across the organization to support financial understanding and accountability Translate complex financial information into clear, practical insights Support operational decision‑making with data‑driven analysis Manage timelines and deliverables for budget cycles, forecast updates, funding submissions, and coordinate inputs across multiple teams Improve financial models, tools, and reporting processes Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and consistency in funding and planning workflow What You’ll Bring 4–7+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a related field Experience with government funding, grants, or regulated environments is an asset Strong financial modeling and Excel skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non‑financial audiences A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset Behavioral Competencies Enthusiastic – shows intense and eager enjoyment and interest Team Player – works well as a member of a group Functional Expert – considered a thought leader on a subject Detail Oriented – capable of carrying out a task with all necessary details Dedicated – devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity Self‑Starter – inspired to perform without outside help Flexibility – inspired to perform well when granted the ability to set your own schedule and goals Financial – inspired to perform well by monetary reimbursement Organizational Overview The YMCA of Hamilton|Burlington|Brantford is one of the largest charitable community service organizations in Canada, responding to critical social needs and providing life‑building opportunities for children, youth, and adults.
