Role Title: Manager Cross Liability and Aggregation Position Summary: This role will provide managerial support to Centralized Cross Liability and Aggregation Analysis team members. In support of the broader Centralized Cross Liability team, this role will also monitor the general inbox; assign submissions to team members based on complexity and bandwidth; and report KPIs monthly. Completing complex cross liability scenarios is also substantial part of the role.
Job Responsibilities: Provide managerial support to Centralized Cross Liability and Aggregation Analysis team members. Monitor cross liability requests received from Operations in the general inbox and prioritize workload effectively to team based on complexity and bandwidth; andreport KPIs monthly. Complete a full cross liability analysis for each of the requested accounts.
Identify locations that have cross liability exposures that warrant a line setting (LS)adjustment reviewing risk quality, confirming the appropriate maximum foreseen loss (MFL), documenting underwriting intent, allocating premium and binding the final structure in the system beyond what Risk Transfer would otherwise havegenerated. Act as a point of contact for operations, underwriting and other functions. In a timely fashion communicate back to the operations cross liability analysis findings for the requested account including any necessary adjustment(s) to reinsurance line settings.
Provide technical guidance on line setting approaches, ensuring insurance capacity structures appropriately reflect cross liability, underwriting intent and reinsurance protection Determine line setting diagrams and capacity allocations and communicate line setting instructions to the operations for crossliability capacity impacted locations. Create / update cross liability scenarios in Account Insight Cross Liability. Skill and Experience: 7-9 years of experiencerequired to perform essential job functions. 7-9 years experience in the insurance industry, with at least 7 years experience underwriting large and medium commercial property and at least 5 years experience in a managerial role.
Additional Experience Qualifier (optional): Experience in global or multi-regional insurance environments Deep understanding of aggregation risk Understand the transactions of underwriting procedures Knowledge of loss prevention procedures and how they impact the underwriting process Excellent leadership, team building, planning and organizing, and change management Comfortable making decisions related to business objectives Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate business goals and overall strategies needed to attain goals across functions Considerable computer and analytical skills professional, constructive approach to problem solving with a solutions oriented mindset Detail oriented Must Have Skills: Ability to run a centralized, high-volume intake model 7-9 years experience in the insurance industry, with at least 7 years underwriting large and medium commercial property and at least 5 years experience in a managerial role. Proficiency with SQL/R Verisk Certified Catastophe Risk Modeler (VCCRM) (Formerly CEEM) Strong skills in excel and database management/utility is desirable Expertise in Aggregation risk Cross liability structures, and Reinsurance implications Comfortable making high-impact decisions with imperfect data Ability to lead a team that can operate with increasing autonomy and consistency Ability to navigates conflicting priorities without escalation overload Ensures consistent application of underwriting requirements and methodology Ability to plan strategically to anticipate demand spikes and deploy capacity and resources efficiently. Ability to communicate complex technical outputs into clear direction and insights.
