Manager, Concerts – Toronto, ON Position Type: Permanent Full‑Time Work Model: Hybrid Hiring Range: $84,480 to $105,600 Socan is a not‑for‑profit copyright collective dedicated to ensuring music creators and publishers receive what they have rightfully earned for the use of their work. Socan supports and represents nearly 200,000 songwriters, composers, and music publishers. ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Director – Royalty Operations, the Manager of Concerts will lead a high‑performing team and oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the Concert distribution process, ensuring accurate and timely processing and distribution outcomes for creators and rights holders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the Concert team, ensuring high‑quality processing and distribution outcomes. Set departmental priorities, goals, and resource plans to support service levels and organizational objectives. Identify, monitor, analyze, and communicate operational results and performance indicators using data and insights to drive accountability and continuous improvement.

Evaluate and enhance business processes, policies, procedures, and workflows to improve accuracy, efficiency, and stakeholder experience. Partner with Senior Management, the Concert Stream Manager, IT, and external stakeholders to optimize systems, streamline workflows, resolve operational issues, and support effective delivery of Concert distributions. Coach, develop, and manage team members by setting expectations, providing feedback, managing performance, and supporting training and development.

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and resolve complex inquiries and service issues through case management (CRM). Act as an escalation point for complex member, stakeholder, and operational issues requiring judgment and cross‑functional coordination. Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Broad knowledge of the music industry, with an understanding of Socan’s Distribution and Licensing processes. Post‑secondary education in business administration, finance, music business, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience, with a proven track record of building and motivating high‑performing teams.

Experience in operations management, preferably in a royalties, music rights, or data‑driven environment. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and deliver actionable insights. Effective communicator with interpersonal skills and collaboration across cross‑functional teams and external partners.

Strong organizational and prioritization skills, managing multiple initiatives in a fast‑paced environment. Experience with business systems, music royalty/repertoire systems, reporting tools, and CRM platforms, and comfort leveraging technology to enhance operational effectiveness. Proactive, solutions‑focused approach, adaptive to evolving business needs.

Commitment to supporting creators and rights holders through accurate, fair, and responsive service. Bilingualism (French/English) is a significant asset.
