Pahlé India Foundation (PIF)

DelhiFull-timeMid LevelOn-site

Job Description

About Pahle India Foundation Pahlé India Foundation (PIF) is a public policy think-and-action tank working at the intersection of research, policy implementation, and partnerships to advance India's inclusive development agenda. PIF collaborates with government, industry, philanthropy, and knowledge partners to design evidence-based solutions aligned with the vision of a Viksit Bharat. ROLE OVERVIEW PIF is seeking a dynamic and creative Manager – Communications & Events with 5–6 years of demonstrated experience in communications, digital content, and events.

The ideal candidate is a confident, hands-on professional who can independently drive PIF's external communications, social media presence, brand storytelling, and stakeholder events — bringing both strategic thinking and strong execution ability to the role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Communications Strategy & Copywriting Execute and contribute to PIF's integrated communications strategy across digital, print, and media channels — ensuring sharp, consistent messaging aligned with organisational priorities.

Write, edit, and deliver high-quality content across formats — press releases, op-eds, policy briefs, newsletters, website copy, annual reports, and donor communications. Translate complex policy research into compelling, accessible narratives for diverse audiences — policymakers, donors, media, and the general public. Own PIF's editorial calendar and ensure timely, purposeful content output across all platforms and campaigns. 2.

Social Media Management & Digital Presence Independently manage PIF's social media platforms (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) — building platform-specific content plans that grow engagement, visibility, and follower quality. Conceptualise, design, and publish regular posts, reels, carousels, and campaign content using Canva, Adobe Express, or equivalent tools. Analyse performance metrics regularly, draw insights, and refine content strategy to improve reach and engagement.

Track emerging social media trends and policy conversations to ensure PIF's content stays relevant, timely, and impactful. 3. Events & Stakeholder Engagement Plan and execute PIF's events — policy roundtables, panel discussions, thought-leadership summits, donor convenings, and webinars — managing all logistics independently from concept to close. Handle invitations, speaker coordination, venue, AV, programme flow, live social media coverage, and post-event communications.

Create all event-specific communication assets — banners, programmes, social creatives, post-event reports, and highlight reels. Represent PIF at external forums, sector conferences, and networking events to build institutional visibility and relationships. 5. Media Relations & PR Build and manage relationships with journalists, editors, and media contacts covering policy, development, and governance.

Proactively pitch stories, op-eds, and expert commentary to grow PIF's earned media presence. Track media coverage and maintain regular press clippings, coverage reports, and media databases. Prepare talking points, media briefs, and public-facing communication materials for senior leadership. 6.

Partnerships Communications & Donor Visibility Partner with the fundraising and partnerships team to produce compelling donor-facing materials — impact reports, pitch decks, case studies, and stewardship communications. Ensure consistent, high-quality messaging across CSR proposals, grant applications, and partner-facing content. Use AI writing and design tools to improve the speed, quality, and scale of communications output without compromising on brand standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Design, or a related field. 5–6 years of demonstrated, hands-on experience in communications, content strategy, social media management, or digital marketing — experience in a think tank, NGO, consulting firm, media organisation, or public affairs agency is preferred. Proven writing, editing, and copywriting skills in English — ability to shift tone and register fluidly across formats, from policy documents to social media captions. Demonstrated proficiency in graphic design tools — Canva (essential); working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is strongly preferred.

Proven track record of managing organisational social media accounts with measurable growth in reach and engagement — a portfolio of past work is required. Solid understanding of digital communications, content marketing, social media analytics, and SEO fundamentals. Demonstrated experience planning and executing professional events — policy forums, panel discussions, webinars, or stakeholder convenings — with minimal oversight.

Proficient in using AI tools (ChatGPT, Canva AI, scheduling and analytics platforms) to enhance productivity and output quality. Self-driven, highly organised, and capable of managing multiple simultaneous deliverables independently — you meet deadlines and raise the bar on quality. WHAT WE OFFER A platform to shape communications at one of India's leading public policy organisations.

Exposure to senior national and international stakeholders across government, philanthropy, and academia. A collaborative, mission-driven work environment with scope for creative ownership and growth. Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE Interested candidates are invited to send the following to: A detailed CV. A cover letter highlighting your interest and relevant experience for this role. A portfolio or samples of past communications/design work (links or attachments welcome).

Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further evaluation. Pahlé India Foundation is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from individuals of all backgrounds.
