Legal Entity: AECOM Technical Services Inc Business Line: Advisory Work Location Model: Hybrid Primary Location: US - Chicago, IL - 130 East Randolph Compensation: USD 110,000 - USD 170,000 - yearly Job Description AECOM Advisory is seeking a dynamic Manager (Managing Consultant/Engagement Manager) to support our growing global Advisory business line. We are looking for management consultants who are mission‑driven and can support clients in economic, environmental and social vibrancy. Eligible locations include Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; and Chicago, IL.

As a Manager , your day‑to‑day duties will include architecting, leading, and managing client engagements. Key responsibilities are: • Building client relationships and managing interactions throughout the engagement lifecycle, bringing clients into engagement delivery and iteratively building their buy‑in. • Upwardly and laterally managing inputs from regional leadership, Directors, Client Account Managers, and technical experts to flag key delivery choices, considerations, and risks related to technical scope, client satisfaction, and commercial constraints. • Independently tailoring existing or proven analytical frameworks and methodologies to client‑specific needs. • Collaborating with leadership to architect new analytical frameworks for novel client needs. • Driving delivery teams of 5–8 Consultants and Senior Consultants across multiple inter‑dependent workstreams, including applying existing and hypothesizing new solution frameworks, leveraging AI tools for baseline assessments, conducting stakeholder interviews, performing business modelling (market sizing, segmentation, penetration, adoption), and building custom discounted cash‑flow (DCF) Excel models. • Leveraging analytical and data visualization tools (ArcGIS, Costar, IMPLAN, Python, Tableau) to derive patterns, trends, and insights from client and third‑party datasets. • Creating highly polished executive‑ready decks, consolidating multiple inputs into coherent insights across slide decks, written narratives, playbooks, dashboards, and toolkits. • Proactively coaching and mentoring junior staff on core consulting skills. • Contributing to business development activities such as supporting Capture Managers with proposal responses, creating pitch decks, and demonstrating commercial acumen around client needs. Qualifications Required: At least 5 years of management consulting or corporate strategy experience (or equivalent).

Strong interpersonal skills and a client‑service mindset. Ability to collaborate across broad geographies and business lines. Comfortable working in a high‑tempo, high‑context client‑facing environment under pressure.

Self‑directed, anticipatory, and responsive to iterative feedback. Outstanding attention to detail. Exceptional numerical reasoning and quantitative skills.

Sharp analytical and logical reasoning with discretion to solve ambiguous client problems. Strong commercial acumen with an informed point‑of‑view on enterprise challenges. Solid verbal communication and narrative development skills for C‑suite audiences.

Team‑player who works well within a diverse team. Preferred: MBA or Master’s degree in Operations Research, Management Science, Finance, Economics, Systems Engineering, or related fields. Fluency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Experience with ArcGIS and other spatial analysis tools. Proficiency with R, Python or other quantitative/statistical programs. Experience with financial cash‑flow evaluation, particularly public finance, via Excel.
