Accounting Manager Employer: DeSantis Homes Location: Grimsby, ON (In person) Job Type: Full-time Salary: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year Position Summary The Accounting Manager will play a key role in the financial and accounting operations across a multi-entity corporate structure. This hands‑on position focuses on developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The role oversees the Accounts Payable team and ensures work is properly allocated and completed efficiently.

This position reports directly to the VP Finance. Responsibilities Maintain full‑cycle accounting records for multiple corporate entities. Prepare and post complex journal entries for sale closings, land purchases, loan draws, and purchaser deposit releases.

Perform monthly reconciliations for all holding companies and project‑specific bank accounts, tracking all transactions and resolving discrepancies. Calculate, reconcile, and file monthly HST returns for each corporate entity. Ensure timely receipt and accurate tracking of purchaser deposits for low‑rise and high‑rise projects.

Review and assign cost codes with project managers to ensure accurate project reporting; perform monthly Work‑in‑Progress reconciliations. Assist in year‑end working paper preparation for multiple companies. Supervise and mentor the Accounts Payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of high‑volume invoices and payment runs.

Manage and reconcile frequent intercompany transactions to keep all due‑to/from accounts balanced across the corporate structure. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least three years in construction or residential development. Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Experience with Sage 300 CRE is an asset. Experience in the residential & mid‑rise construction industry is an asset. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
