Job Description

Hourly Rate: $60 an hour + penalties + overtime

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the identification, planning, execution and reporting of maintenance activities across operational facilities. This role offers a diverse mix of mechanical maintenance, equipment reliability, shutdown work, fault finding and continuous improvement projects.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the identification, planning, execution and reporting of maintenance activities across operational facilities. This role offers a diverse mix of mechanical maintenance, equipment reliability, shutdown work, fault finding and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

Planned & Breakdown Maintenance

  • Perform preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance on site equipment and infrastructure
  • Conduct inspections, repairs and scheduled maintenance activities
  • Support shutdown and maintenance programs
  • Diagnose and repair production-critical equipment breakdowns
  • Complete work orders and maintenance records within the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
  • Identify defects and scope parts, materials and resources for future maintenance works
  • Overhaul and refurbish major plant components

Reliability & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for defect elimination and equipment reliability improvements
  • Conduct root cause analysis and failure investigations
  • Support engineering improvement projects and asset reliability initiatives
  • Manage critical spares, tools and consumables
  • Contribute to continuous improvement programs across the site

Safety & Compliance

  • Work in accordance with all Workplace Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management requirements
  • Participate in risk assessments, permit-to-work systems and safe work procedures
  • Promote a strong safety culture and maintain high housekeeping standards
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and hazard identification activities
  • Support training and mentoring activities where authorised

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential Requirements

  • Trade qualification in Fitting / Turning or Boilermaking
  • Current Forklift Licence (LF)
  • Current manualdriver's licence
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an industrial maintenance environment
  • Experience with preventative and breakdown maintenance
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and working within safe work systems
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Permit to Work writing and / or using

Highly Regarded

  • Experience in bitumen, oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, mining, terminals or heavy industrial facilities
  • Experience maintaining equipment controlled by PLC or distributed control systems (DCS)
  • Experience using CMMS or maintenance management software
  • Permit to Work preparation and issuing experience
  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence
  • Confined Space Entry certification
  • First Aid certification
  • MR Licence
