Maintenance Technician

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues, including adjusting, aligning, and repairing power transmission systems, gearboxes, pumps, and fans
Perform welding, brazing, and soldering
Service compressed air and water piping systems
Safely move large, heavy machine components using cranes, jacks, and hoists
Install new equipment and piping systems
Read and follow maintenance procedures for electrical and instrumentation equipment
Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and service manuals
Ensure compliance with safety standards and applicable codes
Perform regular housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean work area
Collaborate with outside contractors and inspectors
Maintain working relationships with coworkers, contractors, and customers
Communicate and liaise with other departments
Respond to and manage maintenance emergencies as required
Perform other maintenance assignments and duties; work some overtime as necessary

Requirements

• Proven experience in an industrial environment is a strong asset
• Technical knowledge of pumps, filters, gearboxes and valves
• Functional computer skills for logging maintenance activities, tracking work orders, and accessing procedures
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Exemplary oral and written communication skills
• G license required
• Ability to work effectively outdoors across various weather conditions
• Availability and willingness to work rotating morning and afternoon shifts
• Valid work authorization in Canada; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship
