About the Role
Coughlin is hiring a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to handle general carpentry, repairs, and upkeep across our job sites and client properties in central Connecticut. This is a versatile role for someone who can diagnose a problem, fix what they can, and report the status to a supervisor. What You’ll Do
- General carpentry maintenance: patching drywall, replacing ceiling tiles, site cleanup and minor trim
- Minor door, lock, and hardware repairs and adjustments
- Basic plumbing and fixture fixes (faucets, toilets, simple leaks) within skill level
- Routine building and equipment upkeep, including punch-list and warranty items
- Act as on-site first responder: identify issues and report back to supervisor.
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and orderly—often in occupied commercial or residential spaces
- Track materials needed and communicate clearly with supervisors and clients
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of facilities or general maintenance experience (residential remodeling or property management background welcome)
- Broad general repair knowledge across carpentry, drywall, and basic systems—no trade license required
- Comfortable working professionally in occupied homes and businesses
- Good communication and dependable follow-through
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Own basic hand tools (we supply specialty equipment and materials)
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the day
