Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Technician – 2nd Shift

Location: Carlstadt , NJ
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: Up to $34/hour
Shift: 2nd Shift (Overtime as needed)

Job Summary

An extremely busy door manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Technician to join our 2nd Shift operations team. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery and facility equipment to minimize downtime and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with industrial equipment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues on production equipment
• Diagnose and repair machinery, motors, conveyors, and automated equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed
• Troubleshoot control systems and assist with PLC-related issues
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
• Perform maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Work closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Technician, or similar role
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience repairing industrial manufacturing equipment preferred
• Knowledge of PLC systems, automated machinery, motors, drives, and controls
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work 2nd Shift and overtime as required

• Overtime may be required based on production needs

Compensation

Up to $34/hour
