MAINTENANCE MANAGER

THE OPPORTUNITY

Working with us as a Maintenance Manager will give you the opportunity to manage, motivate and inspire a small professional team to deliver excellent service that we are renowned for.

Daily, you will showcase your skills and knowledge by:

• Oversee the overall maintenance and repair operations of the hotel, ensuring that all areas are well-maintained and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and ensure optimal functioning of all systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
• Coordinate and supervise a small team, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring performance to ensure efficient and effective execution of duties.
• Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities, guest rooms, and public areas to identify maintenance needs, and promptly address any issues to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and standards.
• Manage maintenance budgets, track expenses, and work closely with contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and timely delivery of equipment and materials.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping to coordinate maintenance activities, prioritise tasks, and minimise guest disruption.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and codes related to safety, health, and environmental standards, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and equipment inventory, utilizing computerized maintenance management systems.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in maintenance management, and implement relevant improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel maintenance, with at least 1 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

• Strong knowledge of maintenance principles, techniques, and best practices, including experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills, capable of prioritising multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and guests.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with Opera or other maintenance management software.
• Qualifications or technical training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
