Maintenance Manager

Title: General Manager – Maintenance and Repair Location: Oakland CA Schedule: You will work either day or night shift, 5 days per week Travel: Occasional travel to other terminal locations (company vehicle + gas card) Compensation: Target base salary ~$110K - depending on experience and qualifications Bonuses/Additional Compensation: Relocation / sign-on bonus is available on a case-by-case basis; annual discretionary bonus plan (7-15%) Benefits : Company offers an inexpensive, comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical / Dental Insurance; Life / AD&D Insurance; Flexible Spending Accounts; Short- and Long-Term Disability; Vacation; 401K with employer match (up to 5%); discretionary profit-sharing; etc. Position Description: As a General Manager of Maintenance and Repair, you will develop and maintain positive customer relations by understanding customer needs, contract terms and conditions, and by implementing and executing plans to address those needs. You will be assigned into one of three departments (Chassis / Reefer, Crane or Power) and supervise a union workforce in the execution of maintenance and repair activities of port terminal cargo handling equipment. Safety, Customer Service, Production and Labor Relations are the focus areas for this position. Some specific responsibilities include: Supervision of mechanics, clerks, leadmen, chief clerks and foreman in their work assignments and evaluate the performance of all employees under your direction. Participate in the development and implementation of company safety policies and procedures. Actively manage and monitor the safety of your operation, ensuring safety of all employees. Identify training opportunities of staff as needed. Determine work needs for each shift and assign such work to the workforce.

Manage and implement daily operational changes to improve efficiency and quality of work. Analyze the quality of work performed, post-audit repairs with mechanics as needed. Manage inventory and part ordering process. #J-18808-Ljbffr
