Maintenance Engineer

Tuesday to Saturday DAYS ONLY 40 hours a week (flexible hours) I am currently working with a well-established food manufacturing business. You’ll be based on their production facility, where they manufacture high-volume, high-quality products supplied to major retail and global customers. They are seeking a Multiskilled Engineer to join their Engineering team, covering a Tuesday - Saturday shift pattern (days only, flexible hours) Role Overview This is a hands-on role providing reactive and preventative electrical and mechanical maintenance support to production, ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations.

You will work across a wide range of manufacturing equipment, contributing directly to plant performance, safety, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Maintain plant and machinery to meet production requirements Respond quickly and efficiently to machinery breakdowns Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs Deliver a robust preventative maintenance programme to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability Carry out machinery installations and modifications when required Work closely with production teams to support machine changeovers and settings Ensure all planned and preventative maintenance documentation is accurate and up to date Maintain engineering standards in line with company policies Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, COSHH, and relevant legislation Manage spares and stock control, including critical spares listings Participate in shift handovers and maintain audit-ready standards at all times Contribute ideas for continuous improvement Requirements Qualified electrically Strong fault-finding and repair skills across electrical and mechanical systems Experience maintaining production and packaging machinery Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload effectively Full UK driving licence Previous experience within Manufacturing or FMCG Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, and automated systems CMMS experience (FIXX Maintenance System or similar) Unfortunately we cannot offer sponsorship for this role
