Job Description
Position Overview Successful candidate will assume the role of Mainframe Systems SME and assist the Project Manager and/or Team Manager on various Parts Applications projects. Location Torrance, CA Job Title Mainframe Systems Analyst Work Eligibility USC/GC/EAD Contract Length 6+ months Responsibilities Analyze business requirements and manage completion of units of work for the successful candidate and other team members. Complete assigned units of work ranging from ~100‑hour enhancements to full involvement in large projects.
Gather requirements, perform functional and detailed analysis/design, conduct unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing, implement solutions, document, and manage warranty activities. Define architectural solutions to meet application requirements. Provide status updates to the Project Manager/Lead as needed.
Allocate effort: Analysis/Design 30‑40%, Development (code, unit test, integration test, system test, UAT, implementation, warranty) 30‑40%, Architectural solutions 20‑40%. Desired Skills & Experience Proficient in COBOL, CICS, JCL, IMS, VSAM, DB2, and System Development Life Cycle concepts. Experience with Microsoft development technologies (e.g., .NET Core, MVC.Net, C#, Angular) is a plus.
Working knowledge of software engineering, software development, solution architecture, and implementation of medium to large‑scale systems across multiple platforms. Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines across the enterprise. Understanding of technology strategy, standards, roadmaps, and practices; technical aptitude for multi‑tier and cross‑platform architectures.
Broad understanding of the IT landscape spanning infrastructure, network, client, server, and emerging technology standards and trends. Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Knowledge of automotive parts systems, warehousing, and supply chain is a plus.
Additional Requirements Proficiency in COBOL, CICS, JCL, IMS, VSAM, DB2, and System Development Life Cycle concepts is a must. #J-18808-Ljbffr
