Mainframe System Programmer / Administrator (Plano)

Position: Mainframe System Programmer / Administrator Location: Plano, TX (Onsite, 5 days/week) Work Authorization: Only U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders will be considered We are looking for a strong Mainframe System Programmer/Administrator with hands-on experience in infrastructure software implementation and system-level support. This is not a COBOL development role but focuses on system programming and administration within a large-scale enterprise environment.

You will be part of an agile team working on enhancing, designing, and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology solutions across enterprise platforms. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and support IBM mainframe software Work on infrastructure software implementation and system enhancements Manage and maintain z/OS and related tools Handle system monitoring using Dynatrace Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize technology processes Troubleshoot complex system issues and mitigate risks Drive improvements aligned with compliance, security, and business objectives Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing Must Have 5+ years of Mainframe Systems Programming experience Strong expertise in z/OS, JCL, JES, SDSF, VSAM, and system utilities Hands-on experience with CA-7, Control-M/Control-N, and related tools Mandatory experience with SMP/E for software installation and deployment Experience with Dynatrace or similar monitoring tools Strong understanding of system deployment processes Scripting experience (REXX, Unix, Python, or similar) Preferred Experience working in Agile environments Knowledge of tools like OPS/MVS, ACF2, Thruput Manager, etc. Exposure to Parallel Sysplex and z/OSMF workflows Strong problem-solving and communication skills
