Network Installation Technician

Immediate Openings – DMV

MSI Core is growing our enterprise network deployment team in the Washington, DC metro area, including Maryland and Northern Virginia (DMV).

We have an immediate need for experienced network installation technicians and are interviewing qualified candidates now. MSI has active and upcoming installation work, and we're looking for technicians who are ready to get to work and become part of a professional installation team.

We're looking for people who take pride in doing the job right the first time. If you show up prepared, pay attention to the details, work well with a team, and like seeing a clean, professional installation at the end of the job, we'd like to talk with you.

Our work involves installing and supporting enterprise network infrastructure at commercial customer locations.

What You'll Do

·    Install, route, terminate, label, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.

·    Install and build out network racks, cabinets, patch panels, cable management, and related hardware.

·    Mount and secure network equipment according to project drawings and installation requirements.

·    Install and maintain cable pathways.

·    Label, document, and test completed cabling and network drops.

·    Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, and installation issues when needed.

·    Maintain a clean and safe work area.

·    Work closely with other MSI technicians and project leadership.

·    Represent MSI professionally while working at customer locations.

What We're Looking For

·    Experience with structured cabling or commercial/enterprise network installations.

·    Ability to read basic floor plans and installation drawings.

·    Experience terminating copper cabling. Fiber experience is preferred.

·    Experience with patch panels, network rack buildouts, cable pathways, and equipment installation.

·    Ability to use common installation tools, drills, ladders, and cable testing equipment.

·    Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

·    Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

·    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders when required.

Preferred Qualifications

·    Commercial network deployment experience.

·    BICSI certification is a plus, but not required.

·    OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

·    Experience with Fluke or similar cable testing/certification equipment is a plus.

Project Travel

Technicians must be able to travel to project sites throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia, and surrounding DMV areas as required.

Training

·    Paid training.

·    On-the-job training.
