Vice President - Litigation Finance Investments Location: Chicago, IL (5 days in-office) Overview A Chicago-based investment platform focused on litigation finance and specialty finance strategies is seeking a Vice President to join its investment team. This individual will play a key role in sourcing, diligencing, and underwriting complex litigation-driven and asset-backed investment opportunities across niche, uncorrelated strategies. This is a senior, high-ownership role within a lean, entrepreneurial environment, suited for candidates with 8-10+ years of experience across manager research, private markets, or specialty finance who are looking to step into a more direct investing seat.

Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end diligence and underwriting of litigation finance investments, including case-level and portfolio-level analysis Evaluate specialty finance and esoteric credit opportunities , with a focus on downside protection and asymmetric return profiles Drive investment structuring and execution across litigation finance and adjacent strategies Build and oversee complex financial models, scenario analyses, and risk assessments Author and present investment memos and IC materials to senior stakeholders Conduct manager, sponsor, and legal diligence , including direct interaction with external partners and advisors Partner with senior leadership on portfolio construction, capital allocation, and new strategy development Support portfolio monitoring and provide ongoing insights on performance and risk AI / Technology Focus Actively leverage data and technology to enhance underwriting and research workflows Contribute to firmwide initiatives focused on AI integration and investment process optimization Ideal candidates have experience implementing or scaling AI-driven tools within an investment or analytical environment Qualifications 8-10+ years of experience across: Manager research (OCIO, family office, institutional allocator) Private credit / opportunistic or distressed investing Specialty finance / asset-backed or structured credit Demonstrated track record of leading diligence and evaluating complex investments Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities Experience producing and presenting investment materials at the IC level CFA or similarly rigorous analytical background preferred Strong academic background (top undergraduate and/or MBA program preferred) Profile Fit Background similar to a senior manager research or private markets investor , with a clear progression into direct investment work Candidates from larger platforms seeking a more agile, high-impact environment LP professionals looking to transition into a GP / direct investing role High ownership mentality; comfortable leading workstreams in a lean team environment Strong intellectual curiosity, particularly around litigation finance and niche, uncorrelated strategies Additional Details Title: Vice President Must be Chicago-based (non-negotiable) Fully in-office , five days per week #J-18808-Ljbffr
