Light vehicle motor mechanic

About the role:
Canning Automotive is seeking an experienced LV Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on technical position based in Willetton, WA 6155, where you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining low-voltage electrical motors and associated systems. As an LV Motor Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients' equipment operates safely and efficiently, whilst maintaining the high standards Canning Automotive is known for in the automotive trades industry.

Key responsiblities:

Diagnose faults in low-voltage motor systems using specialised diagnostic equipment and testing procedures

Perform repairs and maintenance on LV motors, including rewinding, bearing replacement, and component refurbishment

Conduct electrical testing and performance checks to ensure motors meet safety and operational standards

Assemble and disassemble motor components with precision and attention to detail

Document all repair work, testing results, and maintenance activities in accordance with company procedures

Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical safety standards and regulations

Collaborate with other team members to support workshop operations and customer satisfaction

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with workplace health and safety requirements

What we're looking for:

Minimum Certificate III or above in relevant field.

At least one year of Full-time work experience in motor mechanics, electrical trade, or a related automotive field.

Proven experience working with low-voltage motor systems and electrical components

Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools

Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and best practices

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work specifications

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

A valid driver's license

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
