Job Description

Lead Project Engineer – Energy & Process Join WSP’s Energy & Process team within the ERI sector supporting projects across Canada and globally, from conventional energy to low‑carbon transition solutions. As a Lead Project Engineer you will guide complex energy projects from concept through detailed engineering, act as a key client interface, and drive multidisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities Lead planning, scheduling, and estimation of engineering design activities from concept through construction‑ready deliverables Drive project success by identifying risks early and ensuring delivery across quality, schedule, and cost objectives Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, providing technical direction and aligning all deliverables Interpret project scope and specifications to ensure compliance with technical, regulatory, and WSP standards Oversee and approve engineering designs, maintaining quality assurance and consistency with project goals Serve as the primary technical interface with clients, providing guidance on complex engineering challenges Support execution through cost estimating, risk assessment, change management, and engineering documentation Mentor and develop engineers, strengthening technical capability and team performance Qualifications Post‑graduate degree in Engineering P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation 10–15 years of EPCM experience in the energy industry, including 7–10 years in project engineering roles Proven experience leading projects and working directly with clients and stakeholders Strong communication skills with the ability to act as a trusted client advisor Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and producing project reports Strong understanding of design optimization, risk management, and engineering best practices Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 - $162,800 MB & ON: $112,100 - $154,400 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $111,000 - $147,400 WSP is committed to the principles of employment equity.
