The Opportunity Join WSP’s Energy & Process team—part of our ERI sector—supporting projects across Canada and globally.
As a Lead Project Engineer, you will guide complex energy projects from concept through detailed engineering, acting as a key client interface and driving multidisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities Lead planning, scheduling, and estimation of engineering design activities from concept to construction‑ready deliverables. Drive project success by identifying risks early and ensuring delivery across quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, providing technical direction and aligning all deliverables. Interpret project scope and specifications to ensure compliance with technical, regulatory, and WSP standards. Oversee and approve engineering designs, maintaining quality assurance and consistency with project goals.
Serve as primary technical interface with clients, providing guidance on complex engineering challenges. Support execution through cost estimating, risk assessment, change management, and engineering documentation. Mentor and develop engineers, strengthening technical capability and team performance.
Qualifications P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation. 10–15 years of EPCM experience in the energy industry, including 7–10 years in project engineering roles. Proven experience leading projects and working directly with clients and stakeholders. Strong communication skills with the ability to act as a trusted client advisor.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and producing project reports. Strong understanding of design optimization, risk management, and engineering best practices.

Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 - $162,800 MB & ON: $112,100 - $154,400 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $111,000 - $147,400 The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
