Job Summary EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Lead Engineer to provide operations and maintenance support for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Arlington, VA.

This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Directly reports to Sr. Chief Engineer/Assistant Chief Engineer and the EMCOR Operations Manager, as required.

Directs work to subordinate Local 99 engineers and other trades and/or other shops/unions/subcontractors. Receives, schedules/assigns, monitors, and reports service calls and maintenance. Provides assistance and technical support of operations and maintenance.

Serves as Acting Chief Engineer for FDIC VASQ, if required. Performs asset/equipment inspections, recommends improvements per industry standards, develops project estimates for RWO work. Oversees critical equipment, including but not limited to central plants.

Be available and flexible to respond on-site for 24/7/365 critical operations. Perform duties associated with operation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air-conditioning and heating equipment. Adjusting and minor repairs to mechanical and electrical equipment and component parts of heating and air-conditioning systems and auxiliary support equipment.

Make physical inspections of work performed, equipment and testing of equipment for correct operation of all components of the refrigeration cycle and other relevant factors contributing to the proper and efficient operation of systems, boilers, chillers, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, etc. Answer occupants’ complaints relating to Trades and Central Plant and reports information to management. Provide technical support in the efficient and safe operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment, report recommendations and work accomplished to management.

Develop procedures/checklists, train, and enforce standards, as required. Propose operational changes to improve efficient use of the facilities equipment. Send management detailed reports related to all operations and maintenance.

Present/brief status on maintenance, repair, and RWO on‑going and scheduled. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Preferred – Valid DC 3st Class Steam Engineer License Prior experience as a watch supervisor.

Proficient and knowledgeable in HVAC systems. Able to perform preventive maintenance on all operational and mechanical equipment. Knowledge of operating related electrical equipment and machinery.

Demonstrate the ability to read and understand Blueprints, schematics, and specifications. Practical knowledge of Chiller Plant Operations. Practical knowledge of Building Air Systems.

Must be willing to work shift work. Physical Demands Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs / push up to 100 lbs) Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking. Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies.
