Company - Our esteemed client is a large, globally recognized financial services organization operating in the banking sector. Job Title - Lead Developer - Apigee Location - Toronto, ON, Canada (Hybrid preferred with downtown Toronto office; remote candidates within Canada will also be considered) Role Type - Contract (6 months with potential extension) Must Have Skills: Expert-level experience with Apigee proxy, policy, and shared flow architecture Strong Node.js development experience Deep understanding of API security, including OAuth and JWT GitHub expertise with CI/CD implementation and branching strategies Proven technical leadership, mentoring, and development best practices Experience with API testing tools such as Postman Responsibilities and Job Details: Lead the design and development of Apigee proxies for enterprise applications Architect and implement Apigee policies for security, rate limiting, transformation, and governance Design and maintain reusable shared flows to support enterprise API standards Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams Establish and promote API development best practices across projects Implement robust API security controls using industry-standard authentication and authorization methods Lead Node.js development efforts for custom API functionality and integrations Manage GitHub repositories, version control processes, and CI/CD pipeline integration Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and application owners to accelerate API onboarding initiatives Ensure API solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards Support API testing, validation, and deployment activities using modern testing methodologies Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders while driving project success and delivery excellence
