About the Opportunity
Our client, a highly reputable full-service law firm, is seeking a Family Lawyer to join its established Family Law practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to further develop their practice while working alongside experienced practitioners in a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage family law files from intake through resolution.
- Provide strategic legal advice and representation to clients on a broad range of family law matters.
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, financial statements, settlement proposals, domestic contracts, and other legal documentation.
- Prepare for and attend mediations, conferences, motions, trials, and other court appearances.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate on behalf of clients.
- Conduct legal research and prepare written legal opinions and submissions.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and communication.
Qualifications
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Minimum 3 years of family law experience.
- Experience managing files with increasing levels of independence and responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario family law legislation, Family Law Rules, and court procedures.
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation, legal research, and drafting skills.
- Strong organizational and client management abilities.
- Experience with mediation, negotiation, and litigation proceedings is considered an asset.
