Job Description

About the Role The Land Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of land and mining assets in the Greater Montreal market. This includes managing permits, entitlements, leases, and relationships as needed to maximize mining reserves for the regional aggregates and construction materials business. The role will develop strategic growth opportunities through acquisition and permitting of new greenfield mineral reserves, and handle non‑strategic land sales.

The Land Manager works closely with the local operations team, legal staff, environmental staff, and mine planners. What You'll Accomplish Oversee land management activities, including acquisitions, divestments, lease agreements, and zoning. Represent company at land‑use hearings to secure necessary permits and amendments.

Manage the preparation, maintenance, and compliance of mining and reclamation permits. Negotiate land purchase agreements and mining leases to maximize company value. Develop and manage budgets and timelines for capital projects associated with land acquisition and permitting.

Develop and lead community relations efforts by working with internal staff and key stakeholders. Provide strategic land‑related advice to management to minimize risks and maximize value. Utilize GIS systems to document accurate boundaries for land, permits, and mine concession areas.

Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours. What We're Looking For Education: Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of equivalent experience.

Master’s degree preferred. Field of Study: Environmental Engineering or equivalent. Experience: 5 years in real estate, land, and mining preferred.

Certifications: Training in leadership and team building; Professional Engineering license is a plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Land Information Systems, GIS, and Microsoft Office. Bilingualism: French and English required.

Additional Requirements: Solid problem‑solving skills and interpretation of rules, laws, and agreements. Ability to lead cross‑disciplinary teams and work within regulatory frameworks. Travel of up to 10% and attendance at public meetings, sometimes at night.
