Based in Hollywood, FL, Sintavia, LLC designs and additively manufactures critical components for the Aerospace & Defense industry. We are seeking a career-minded individual for the position of Laboratory Operations Manager, preferably someone who is looking for long-term growth and potential. SUMMARY: The Laboratory Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of the lab, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively. Leads project management, assist in engineering, design, quality, and lab management to implement chemical, metallurgical, mechanical testing, and traditional CNC methods.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all aspects of the lab, including equipment, employees, supplies, software, and documentation. Train lab technicians and engineers on the correct use of lab equipment. Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot laboratory, sample preparation and testing equipment in the chemical, mechanical and metallurgical laboratory.
Prepare for and lead internal and external audits for quality, safety and environmental standards including Nadcap MTL and ISO 17025. Responsible for maintaining a laboratory that is compliant with all industry and customer standards. Monitor process variability and performance to standards.
Various other duties, as needed, to support the business. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, engineering, or related field or equivalent 2+ years in an ISO 17025 testing laboratory environment or related industry Prior supervisory experience Quality management systems experience including procedure and test method development and quality system audits Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent written and oral communication skills Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups Self-motivated, able to multi-task, detail oriented Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Must be able to learn procedures quickly and be a team player Background checks will be completed on all candidates considered for hire. PREFERRED: Experience with atomic emission spectroscopy and elemental analyzers.
Experience with mechanical testing including specimen machining, tensile testing and fatigue testing. Experience with metallography and microstructural analysis. Additive manufacturing materials experience preferred.
