About the role Wise is seeking a dedicated leader to oversee our KYC operations team based in São Paulo. In this position, you will be responsible for guiding a team of analysts, ensuring that our customer due diligence and risk management processes are not only accurate but also efficient and compliant with international regulations. What you’ll do

• Oversee the daily functions of the KYC operations team, ensuring that quality standards and performance metrics are consistently achieved.
• Mentor and develop KYC Analysts through regular one-on-one meetings, career development planning, and constructive performance evaluations.
• Analyze current processes and identify opportunities for enhancements to boost operational efficiency.
• Offer expertise on complex and high-risk cases, managing escalations effectively.
• Manage administrative responsibilities, including team scheduling, recruitment, and training initiatives.
• Collaborate with various internal departments to share knowledge and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Monitor team performance indicators and provide insightful reports to upper management.
• Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and professional growth.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to inform team practices.
• Develop training materials and resources to facilitate team onboarding and continuous learning.
• Engage in cross-functional projects that align with the company's strategic goals.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in operational roles, particularly in customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), anti-money laundering (AML), or risk assessment.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English.
• In-depth knowledge of the regulatory frameworks that govern KYC and AML practices.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating strong organizational and time management capabilities.
• Proven track record of taking initiative and working collaboratively within a team.
• Skillful in identifying policy deficiencies and providing detailed, constructive feedback.
• Candidates must submit their resumes in English.

Nice to have

• 1 to 2 years of experience in a leadership role managing small to medium-sized teams.
• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional certifications such as ICA, CAMS, or equivalent qualifications.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Looker, Superset, or proficiency in Google Sheets.
