Job Description โ€“ KVM Developer (Linux Virtualization & Kubernetes) Position: KVM Developer / Virtualization Engineer Location: Remote Duration: ASAP โ€“ 31/03/2027 Language: English Project Overview We are looking for an experienced KVM Developer to support a large-scale infrastructure environment involving Garden Linux, KVM-based virtualization, and Kubernetes platforms. The role focuses on ensuring stable operations, advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and optimization across the virtualization and container ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in KVM, QEMU, Libvirt, and Linux internals, along with strong troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities.

Key Responsibilities KVM Virtualization (Core Focus) Design, configure, and maintain KVM-based virtualization environments Work with QEMU, Libvirt, and Cloud Hypervisor technologies Troubleshoot hypervisor, VM, compute, network, and storage-related issues Optimize VM performance and resource utilization Debug low-level virtualization and configuration issues Implement best practices for virtualization stability and scalability Linux / Garden Linux Administration Configure, deploy, and maintain Garden Linux environments Troubleshoot Linux OS, kernel, package, and system-level issues Debug custom image builds and runtime behavior Perform system hardening and performance optimization Manage systemd services and Linux internals Kubernetes & Gardener Platform Support Support and troubleshoot Gardener Kubernetes platforms Investigate and resolve control plane and shoot cluster issues Perform root cause analysis for infrastructure and platform incidents Improve configuration management and platform reliability Support integrations across Linux, virtualization, and Kubernetes layers Monitoring & Automation Develop automation scripts using Golang, Python, or Bash Work with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Perses Create incident reports, RCA documents, and operational best practices Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and technical documentation Required Skills & Experience Mandatory Skills Strong hands-on expertise in: KVM QEMU Libvirt Experience with Cloud Hypervisor environments Strong Linux administration experience (Debian preferred) Deep understanding of: Linux kernel systemd OS hardening Strong troubleshooting and debugging capabilities Kubernetes & Infrastructure Experience with Kubernetes and Gardener platforms Knowledge of networking concepts: VLANs Linux bridges SDN Experience with storage technologies such as NFS Scripting & Automation Proficiency in: Golang Python Bash scripting Monitoring & Observability Experience with: Prometheus Perses Infrastructure monitoring and alerting Deliverables Incident troubleshooting reports Root Cause Analysis (P1/P2 incidents) Configuration optimization recommendations Performance tuning and hardening improvements Operational best practices documentation Knowledge transfer and technical documentation Preferred Candidate Profile Strong analytical and debugging mindset Ability to work independently in remote environments Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure platforms Excellent communication and documentation skills Comfortable working across virtualization, Linux, and Kubernetes stacks simultaneously
