Job Description

Seeking a hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house operations. You will be a working manager; responsible for the administration of the kitchen while maintaining a consistent presence on the line to lead service and maintain quality standards. Core Responsibilities Kitchen Operations & Administration: • Inventory & Ordering: Maintain accurate inventory levels, place orders with vendors, and manage food costs to meet budget targets. • Scheduling & Staffing: Create and manage weekly schedules, oversee kitchen staff hiring, and handle onboarding/training. • Cost Control: Monitor labor and food costs daily; adjust pars and prep levels to minimize waste. • Compliance: Ensure the kitchen remains in strict compliance with health department regulations and safety standards.

Hands-On Service: • Line Leadership: Work the line during peak shifts to set the pace, ensure food quality, and troubleshoot service issues in real-time. • Quality Control: Enforce recipe consistency, portion control, and presentation standards for every plate. • Team Support: Act as a player-coach, fostering a positive work environment while holding staff accountable for performance. Requirements • Experience: 2+ years of kitchen management or lead line experience. • Skills: Strong working knowledge of kitchen P&L, inventory software, and scheduling. • Certifications: Current Food Safety Manager Certification. • Attributes: Ability to multitask under pressure, clear communication skills, and a "lead by example" mentality. • Availability: Flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays as required by the business.
