Position: K-5 Technology Teacher

Qualifications:
- Current, valid Michigan teaching certificate.
- Appropriate elementary certification or endorsement as required by the Michigan Department of Education (ZG, NP, NR, NE)
- Demonstrated knowledge of educational technology and effective technology integration.
- Ability to provide developmentally appropriate instruction to students in grades Kโ5.
- Knowledge of digital citizenship, online safety, and responsible technology use.
- Ability to integrate creativity, problem-solving, career awareness, and digital literacy into technology instruction.
- Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to providing equitable access to high-quality, well-rounded educational opportunities for all students.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Technology Enrichment & Program Expansion:
- Expand Kโ5 technology learning opportunities through enrichment experiences that integrate creativity, innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Develop and implement technology-based projects and learning experiences that extend beyond foundational computer skills and allow students to design, create, communicate, and solve authentic problems.
- Expand career exploration opportunities by introducing students to technology-related careers and helping students connect technology skills to future educational and career pathways.
- Introduce students to emerging technologies, including developmentally appropriate exploration of artificial intelligence and its responsible use.
- Provide expanded opportunities for students to apply technology skills across content areas through interdisciplinary projects and authentic learning experiences.
- Develop additional technology enrichment experiences and instructional resources that broaden students' access to well-rounded educational opportunities, including AI exploration, multimedia storytelling, and digital creation.
- Collaborate with teachers to identify opportunities for students to apply technology, creativity, and problem-solving skills beyond the regular technology curriculum.
- Evaluate participation and implementation of the expanded technology opportunities supported through Title IV-A.
- K-5 Technology Instruction & Core Responsibilities:
- Provide regularly scheduled Kโ5 technology instruction.
- Teach foundational computer skills, including keyboarding, device navigation, file management, and use of productivity tools.
- Teach students to use district-supported educational technology and digital learning platforms, such as Google Classroom.
- Develop students' general digital literacy and technology fluency.
- Provide instruction in digital citizenship, including online safety, privacy, appropriate communication, and responsible technology use.
- Build student familiarity with technology and digital environments used for classroom learning and online assessments.
- Support students in accessing and appropriately using digital educational resources.
- Differentiate technology instruction to meet the needs of Kโ5 learners.
- Assess student learning and use evidence of student growth to inform instruction.
- Manage technology classroom materials, devices, and instructional resources.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff to support technology integration.
- Participate in building and district meetings, professional learning, and other responsibilities associated with the teaching assignment.
