Junior Sous Chef

Lobby Bar DC is looking for a motivated, hands-on Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team.

Located in the heart of Capitol Hill across from Eastern Market, Lobby Bar is a neighborhood staple serving approachable American food with elevated touches. Our kitchen is led by DC native Executive Chef Andre Williams, whose food brings high-end technique and flavor to familiar favorites.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who is ready to lead, communicate, and grow with a strong kitchen team.

The ideal candidate:

• Has previous experience in a Sous Chef, Junior Sous, Lead Cook, or Kitchen Supervisor role
• Is a strong, confident leader and communicator
• Can effectively lead a team during service while maintaining standards
• Has strong knowledge of food quality, execution, sanitation, and kitchen organization
• Is comfortable working hands-on alongside the team
• Can communicate effectively with both the kitchen and management teams
• Has experience with ordering, receiving, inventory, and vendor communication
• Has a basic understanding of food cost, labor, invoices, and other kitchen financials
• Is Toast-savvy or comfortable learning restaurant technology
• Can help maintain recipes, prep systems, pars, and kitchen SOPs
• Is dependable, accountable, and able to keep the team focused in a fast-paced environment
