About the Company



A well‑established construction specialist is seeking a Junior Design Manager to support the delivery of complex structural and industrial construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early‑career design professional with a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering to step into a technically focused coordination role with strong long‑term development.



About the Role



You will work closely with senior design and project managers, gaining hands‑on experience across multidisciplinary design processes, industrial fit‑out environments, and large‑scale structural projects including mixed-use developments, retail, commercial, leisure & multi-story car parks.



Responsibilities



Design Coordination & Support

  • Assist in managing the design process from post‑tender through to completion
  • Coordinate architects, engineers and specialist subcontractors
  • Support with programmes, technical queries and change control
  • Help identify and mitigate design‑related risks


Team & Stakeholder Communication

  • Communicate design intent clearly to internal and external teams
  • Ensure alignment between design development and site delivery
  • Act as a point of contact for design information flow


Quality & Compliance

  • Support reviews, technical checks and design audits
  • Undertake site visits to ensure works align with approved designs
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations and industry standards


  • Client Interaction
  • Help gather client requirements and constraints
  • Provide practical, buildable solutions under guidance
  • Support senior team members in managing client expectations



Qualifications



  • Degree (BEng/MEng) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related construction discipline



Required Skills



  • Experience as a Design Coordinator, Graduate Engineer, or similar role
  • Exposure to industrial, structural or large‑scale fit‑out projects is highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of BIM and design coordination processes
  • Organised, proactive and confident communicating with multiple stakeholders
  • Keen to develop into a full Design Manager role

  • This role is ideal for a motivated graduate or junior professional looking to build a career in design management within complex industrial and structural environments.



Pay range and compensation package



£35,000 – £45,000 DOE



Full‑time office‑based role in Slough - must be able to commute to the office daily

Exposure to complex industrial and structural projects
