Junior Accountant
Raygen
Job Description
$70,000 β $85,000 per year (Full Time Equivalent)
Weβre looking for an outstanding junior accountant - perhaps working towards your CPA or CA - who wants end-to-end exposure in a finance function and the opportunity to make a real impact from day one.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll juggle accounting, payroll, accounts payable and month end. As RayGen enters its next phase of growth, you'll help build the foundations, shaping the procedures, systems and data that scale with the business, and we'll support you to pursue the areas of finance that interest you most, within the needs of the role and the business.
This is a permanent, part-time role (0.8 FTE, around four days a week) β but if you love the sound of this role and would like to talk to us about alternative arrangements we welcome you to apply.
Key responsibilities
- Support month end close across accounts payable, including bank and loan reconciliations, journals and reporting back to the business
- Process invoices in Xero and ApprovalMax, match them to purchase orders, and keep approval workflows moving
- Prepare the weekly payment run and run monthly and fortnightly payroll, covering new starters, leave, allowances, terminations and staff expenses, and support staff queries
- Prepare BAS, PAYG and deferred GST, and reconcile bank transactions and key supplier accounts
- Help test and roll out the new ERP, and find ways to automate and improve how the finance function runs
- Partner with teams across the business, particularly Supply Chain, Operations, People and Culture and Sales
About you
- An accounting or finance degree or qualification
- A solid understanding of core accounting concepts
- One to two years' experience in a related role, ideally with some payroll experience
- Confidence with Excel and accounting systems (Xero, Odoo or ATO experience is a bonus)
- Strong attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work proactively and autonomously
- Adaptability in a changing, fast-growing business and a genuine interest in improving how things are done
- Contribute to making a positive impact in the world in a business developing cutting edge solar technology to accelerate the renewable energy transition
- Hybrid working options and a flexible working culture
- Participation in our Employee Share Option Scheme
- Wellbeing support: EAP access for you and your family, annual skin checks
- Ongoing learning and development opportunities and team social activities
- A great team environment β passionate people learning and collaborating together to make a difference
