Role Description The Junior Accountant role at Dixcart is a full-time, on-site position based in Funchal. The individual in this role will assist with daily accounting activities, including posting journal entries, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank and client accounts. Typical tasks include preparing basic financial reports, supporting month-end and year-end closing processes, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable.

The Junior Accountant will help ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards, support senior team members with documentation and audit preparation, and maintain accurate and organized financial records. Collaboration with colleagues across different teams is expected to support client service and operational efficiency. Preferably experience in Primavera.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in accounting principles and practices, including basic financial reporting and account reconciliation.
• Competence with spreadsheets and accounting software; ability to work with numerical data accurately and efficiently.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment, taking guidance from senior team members and contributing to team objectives.
• Proficiency in English and Portuguese.
