Job Description
Position Objective
Responsible for the financial and operational management of automatic reinsurance portfolios (proportional and non-proportional), overseeing the entire lifecycle from processing and reconciliation to internal reporting and relationship management with reinsurers and cedants. The professional will ensure the accurate flow of premiums, claims, commissions, and adjustments within the brokerage system, maintaining regulatory compliance with SUSEP requirements and ensuring the integrity of financial data.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Operations and Borderaux Processing
- Manage foreign exchange closing processes for transfers sent to or received from international reinsurers.
- Oversee the processing and accuracy of reinsurance borderaux, ensuring proper recording of premiums, claims, commissions, and related adjustments.
2. Bank Reconciliation and Financial Controls
- Perform periodic bank reconciliations for accounts related to automatic reinsurance operations.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and system records.
- Monitor financial positions by contract, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, outstanding balances, overdue payments, and aging reports.
- Support foreign exchange management activities, including currency conversion monitoring, exchange rate closing, and accounting records for FX variations.
- Monitor and control international remittances, supporting the foreign exchange and compliance teams when required.
3. Systems Update and Maintenance
- Input, update, and maintain financial data within the company’s operational systems.
- Validate data accuracy and integrity after each processing cycle, including premiums, claims, and commissions.
- Support the implementation and testing of new system functionalities related to automatic reinsurance contracts.
4. Reinsurer Relationship Management
- Provide periodic payment confirmations and supporting documentation to reinsurers.
- Negotiate and resolve discrepancies, inquiries, and operational issues.
- Monitor payment and collection deadlines according to contractual agreements and SUSEP requirements.
- Support contract renewal processes by providing financial information and payment history.
5. Compliance, Regulatory Requirements, and Reporting
- Ensure operations comply with applicable regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Support monthly accounting closing activities by reviewing and providing financial information to accounting teams in Brazil, Latin America, and London.
- Assist in the preparation of information and documentation for internal and external audits.
Requirements
Academic Background
- Bachelor’s degree or in progress in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables.
- Knowledge of foreign exchange processes and foreign currency transactions is desirable.
- Experience with financial operations, reconciliation processes, or reinsurance environments is a plus.

Hybrid: 3 days working onsite and 2 days working remotely.
