Job Title: IT Technician

Location: Bogotá, On site - Colombia (only)

Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST

Department: Enterprise Data & Analytics / Technology

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer Position

Key Responsibilities

Device Administration & End-User Support

  • Administer laptops, desktops, printers, and other peripheral devices for employees in the Bogotá office, ensuring they are properly configured, secure, and fully functional.
  • Deploy, configure, manage, and maintain devices using Microsoft Intune, including policy enforcement, application deployment, and remote troubleshooting.
  • Manage user identities, authentication, access permissions, and security groups using Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), ensuring proper access controls are in place.
  • Perform hardware and software installations, upgrades, and replacements as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems (primarily Windows), applications, connectivity, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Provide timely, professional, and friendly onsite technical support to employees of all skill levels.

Ticketing & IT Operations

  • Create, track, prioritize, and resolve IT tickets using Jira and Zendesk, ensuring timely responses and clear communication with users.
  • Document all incidents, troubleshooting steps, solutions, and resolutions in the ticketing system for knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or engineering teams when appropriate, providing clear and detailed information.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of IT assets, including hardware inventory, software licenses, and device assignments.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including device setup, access provisioning, and equipment return.

Internal Application Support & GCE Error Investigation

  • Provide first-line support for internal departmental applications, including troubleshooting access issues, functionality problems, and basic configuration.
  • Work closely with the department to understand application workflows and user needs.
  • Use your understanding of Google Chrome Enterprise (GCE) to help investigate and diagnose errors related to our internally developed applications.
  • Reproduce and document errors, gather relevant logs or screenshots, and prepare detailed information before escalating issues to the engineering or development team.
  • Assist users with application-related questions and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Document known issues, workarounds, and application behavior to build a knowledge base for future reference.
  • Collaborate with development or engineering teams to report bugs or request enhancements, acting as the bridge between end users and technical teams.

Security & Compliance

  • Assist in maintaining IT security standards, including antivirus updates, patch management, and secure configuration practices.
  • Support backups, data protection, and recovery procedures as needed.
  • Follow company IT policies, security procedures, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience & Technical Skills

  • 1-4 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a similar technical role (or equivalent hands-on experience through internships, projects, or personal labs).
  • Working knowledge of Jira and/or Zendesk for ticket management, incident tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune for device management, policy deployment, and application distribution (experience or coursework is sufficient).
  • Understanding of Entra ID concepts such as user identities, authentication, groups, and access management (hands-on experience is a plus but not required).
  • Basic understanding of Google Chrome Enterprise (GCE) and ability to investigate and troubleshoot errors with web-based applications.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Basic networking knowledge, including Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and printer connectivity.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues methodically.

Soft Skills

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience supporting internal enterprise or business applications.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) concepts and ticketing workflows.
  • Exposure to mobile device management (MDM), endpoint management, or imaging technologies.
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, batch scripts) for automation tasks.
  • Interest in or exposure to cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Certified, Microsoft Intune Administrator (MD-102), Google Chrome Enterprise certifications, or similar.
