Position IT Systems Manager Location Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid, 3 days in the office and 2 days remote) Contract 4+ Months and Contract to Hire Client State of Arizona (Arizona Corporation Commission) Position ID 10556 Employment On W2 only and within AZ Description This position serves as a manager (includes planning, directing subordinates, and interpreting policy). This position serves as manager of Systems and Support functions in Information Technology. The job is responsible for maintaining the overall health and reliability of the agency network and related computer systems and applications, including PCs; for providing Agency personnel and external customers as needed, with help resolving any issues that arise while using Client computers, printers, scanners, and other equipment, as well as office productivity software.
To accomplish this, the position has four responsibilities in the organization: Manage the network systems and support desk teams. Participate as a member of the IT Management team in strategic planning and overall division success. Function as a project coordinator with the IT PMO manager as needed over Systems, Desktop Support or other technical initiatives or projects.
Serve as a network systems subject matter expert for the agency in network design and security. Serve as manager of cloud systems and network systems (subject matter expert for the agency) in cloud/network design and security. Knowledge Strong understanding of Cloud infrastructures (Azure) services, cost management best practices, for enterprise systems.
General knowledge of: DB platforms, AI workloads Complex TCP/IP network configurations and implementations. Complex virtualized hardware use cases for enterprise networks. Complex enterprise storage use cases for enterprise networks.
Complex VLAN and layer 3 switching use cases for enterprise networks. Complex and multi-tiered security architectures and practices for enterprise networks. Standards-based IT governance models (ITIL, CoBIT, MOF).
General enterprise data center management (on‑premise and cloud). Working Knowledge Windows 11 PC imaging and troubleshooting. MicroSoft Exchange, Hyper‑V, SharePoint, and SQL server management.
Active Directory, Cisco switching, Security Best Practices. Deep Understanding A deep understanding of all facets of management and leadership, as well as a vision for the specific business program/function being managed. Skills Communicate with other network systems experts and vendor representatives.
Implementing and troubleshooting communications in web based, Cloud and on‑premise server-based multi‑tier applications. Design and configure computing networks, Maintain computer networks using best practice Change controls. Determine Requirements And Procure Servers, PCs, And Other Devices.
Resolve cross‑functional and network outage problems. Research technical issues. Analyze and improve complex network systems.
Manage multiple complex projects and coordinate work efforts with individuals across multiple disciplines. Manage the performance of employees. Lead systems team in completion of assigned work, on time.
